Primary Admission Policies
Proposed Primary Admissions Policy 2025/26 and 2026/27
There is a requirement for our Trust, which is its own admitting authority to consult upon their forthcoming admission arrangements, as laid out in School Admissions Code - September 2021.
The White Horse Federation is carrying out consultation in relation to our Primary school's Admissions Arrangements for 2025/26 and 2026/27.
We wish to consult on the proposed changes within the 2025/26 Admissions Policy, so these come into effect from September 2025:
Primary PAN's
Oxfordshire - West Kidlington Primary School - decrease of PAN from 60 to 30
Swindon - Grange Infant School - Decrease of PAN from 90 to 60
Swindon - Grange Junior School - Decrease of PAN from 90 - 60
The consultation period is now open and will end on the Wednesday 11th December 2024.
Please review our Proposed Primary Admissions policy attached. If you wish to raise any concerns or have any questions, please contact: Admissions@twhf.org.uk before the consultation end date.
A copy of this "proposed" policy will be published on both our Trust and Primary school's websites.

New Starters - What to Expect
Every child's start to school life is a vitally important period. At Southbroom, we do everything we can to make it a smooth, happy, and positive experience. Our early years team place a strong focus on assisting children with the transition from home to school life.
We run a number of 'Stay and Play' sessions during the summer term so that the children can meet the staff and their new classmates. Children are given a 'Summer Journal' to complete over their holidays and are asked to bring it with them on their first day of school. This acts as a brilliant talking point for the children and provides them with some familiarity when they start school.
All children start on a phased start whilst they settle in and learn our school routines and expectations. This is usually for the first week in September. Most children will then start school full-time. If you or the staff feel that your child would benefit from an extended phased start, this will be discussed with the school and yourselves on a 1:1 basis to create a plan that best suits your child.
